I was sitting in my chair in the bay window gently looking out across at the forest ahead.
My vision began. The landscape transformed in front of my eyes from a forest of eucalypt trees to hilly green pines at the same time it became much denser and greener.
From below...amongst the pines an army came marching. They came from below then wheeled passed me. The soldiers were in rows 3 to 4 men deep. They were dressed in dark brown leather and green on top of black chain mail and going into battle. I stood by and watched them pass within centimetres. I felt a real tug to join them in their battle for the environment.
Next, another army 3 or 4 abreastmarched passed me dressed in silver and red. They came from the opposite side, from the right and marched passed me in a diagonal path up the mountain. I could feel their resolve as they marched. They felt like warriors in the Holy Wars with helmets and shields and swords. They were looking ahead, in unison and strong. Again I stood by and watched and marvelled at their strength. They were a powerful committed, force for God. And I felt another tug to join them. however they too left the scene.
The landscape suddenly cleared of trees. I was lifted up and left looking out far ahead. I was all alone, half way up a steep mountain looking to the west. It was like dusk. There was a dark blanket supressing the sun as it set across the sky and land.
I felt the foreboding grasp of that darkness across the land. A chill of recognition went through my consciousness.
Gradually I realised the Lord was talking to me. This was my journey.
“No, I said to the Lord. I can’t take on the kingdom of darkness. I am not enough. I don’t know enough of the Bible.”
He lifted the corner of picture and the light just flooded into the scene.
As I watched, more light was being let in across the land replacing the darkness.
"How can I serve you"…I asked and I was immediately lead to a passage in the Bible:
Amos: 7:14 “I am no prophet nor a prophet’s sons, But I m a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore trees and the Lord took me from following the flock and the Lord said to me Go prophecy to my people Israel.”
I then found myself back in a eucalypt forest, typical of where I am living. Except, I was deep in it, surrounded, with no exit.
"Stay in here a while ... Rest."
